You solved today's puzzle in two guesses and there are twenty-three hours to go. These are the daily games we actually play, grouped by what they test. Everything here is free, runs in a browser, and needs no account.

If you know video games

• Guess the Game from the Gear: this one: a single item, weapon or tool from a game, starting as a white silhouette. Four guesses. Built for people who remember inventories rather than cover art.
• GuessThe.Game: the original daily screenshot game. Six screenshots per title, and the archive runs well past a thousand days.
• Gamedle: several modes on one site: covers, keywords, characters and artwork, if one puzzle a day is not enough.
• Steamdle: guess the game from its Steam reviews. Funnier than it sounds.
